Vimukti observes World Aids day:
Focus on the urgency of Combating HIV/AIDS
The Vimukti Charitable Trust® observed World AIDS Day along with Parijatha State AIDS Control Society, and various NGOs and allied departments. The theme was, ''Getting to zero:- zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination, zero AIDS-related deaths”.

More than 300 participants walked in the rally from Vimukti premises to the Primary Heath Center Pothnal, creating awareness among people at large on HIV/AIDS and to reduce stigma and discrimination shown towards the people who were infected with HIV/AIDS. Students of Shri Venkateshawra College actively participated in the rally, giving awareness by carrying placards, singing vigilant folk songs, raising slogans to draw the attention of the public people who were in the nook and corner of Pothnal. Their role was very handy and powerful.

Vimukti partners performed street play highlighting on the impact of HIV/AIDS which attracted the gathered crowd especially the message of ''Getting to Zero -Zero AIDS-related deaths...'' Soon after the rally, all the people gathered near PHC premises. Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Padamavathi shared her rich 15 years experience of being a full time counselor to the HIV/AIDS patients. Her stories were heart touching and enlightening to the people who heard her. She also cautioned on the effects of HIV on the mass people. After the rally, public meeting was organized. Eminent personalities from the public health sectors participated in the meeting, and overall 550 people benefited from this entire programme.
