Lakshmi Devi strives to secure a good Job and reach out to her family
I am Mrs. Lakshmi Devi, from Nalagamdinni village in Manvi Taluka, of Raichur District. I was born in 1991. Ours is a small family. My parents are Mr. Basavraj and Mrs.Amramma. We have little agricultural land which is the source of income for the family. Four years ago my father borrowed loan from the bank in order to cultivate paddy for the daily sustenance. Due to the lack of rain, fields did not yield good crop and as a result my father committed suicide. At that time I was studying in 9th standard and my younger brother was studying in 6th std. After the death of my father we had to sell our property in order to repay the loan. Then onwards my mother was earning and became a source of income to the family. After the high school I was helping my mother in her work but she was really struggling in order to give us good education. I had great desire to continue my studies, due to poverty and family constrains I discontinued my studies. At this crucial time Vimukti animators visited my family and promised me of getting financial help from Vimukti. Vimukti after studing our family situation, helped me to continue my degree studies at Manvi. I am only girl from my village who has stepped into a college life. To make my life comfortable Vimukti has offered me a cheque of worth Rs.8000/-, cloths, books, bag and other study materials. I am really indeted to Vimukti center for the whole hearted support in my further studies. I want to secure good results and to get a good job soon after my studies, so that I may lessen my family’s burden. My aspiration is to take care of my beloved mother and my younger brother to live decent live. I am thankful to whole Vimukti team for their whole hearted support.
