On 27th February, 2016, CKSK has organized block level children alliance called “Nanna Kanasina Grama” to discuss the issues affecting their lives and to develop action plans. The program was held at Shri. Subrahmanya Sthanika Brahmana Samaja Sabha Bhavana, Laila, Belthangady.

In the first session, Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas, the Project Manager of CKSK and Fr. Amar Lobo GB member of CKSK gave guidance to children about how to present their problems before the Government officials. Children drew picture about their model village and listed out the various issues and raised many problems they face in their villages that affects their day to day life before the government officials.

Different government officials of Belthangady Taluk such as Block Education Coordinator, Circle Inspector, District child protection officer, Child Development Officer, Assistant Engineer of Mescom and the president, members and PDO of Gram Panchayaths were present. Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas motivated the children for the effective communications. Fr. Amar Lobo facilitated the discussion session between the officials and the children. Children discussed their problems with the officials related to their school, mid day meal, eve teasing, school infrastructures and electricity supply of the Taluka.

Children prepared appeals with their signatures to give to the officials of different departments. Officers assured to address the issues and take speedy actions against the problems and guided the children to contact the respective departments with the applications from School head masters, School Developmental & Monitoring Committee etc.

Ms. Sharanya Malebettu and Ms. Gayathri Guripalla welcomed the gathering. Ms. Sonakshi Kanyady thanked the gathering. Ms. Manasa Guripalla, compeered the day’s program. At 5.00 pm the program was concluded.
