HIV/AIDS Awareness Program
Capuchin Krishik Seva KendraŽ Vimukti Laila Organized a HIV/ AIDS
Awareness Program on 30-11-2011at Venur. President of Gram Panchayat
Mr.Dejjappa Shetty flagged off the rally from Mahalingeshwara temple to
Venur circle. During the rally vigilant songs were sung and anti- AIDS
slogans kept the rhythm of the rally. Stage program started at 11.30am.
Mrs.Seema Mathias, Chief Guest of this stage program, apart from that
Dr.Arun Kumar Primary Health center Venur, Mr.Sadanandha Poojary
Principal of SDM ITI Training Venur, Dr. Shanthi Prasad Namana Clinic
Venur, and Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas Director of Capuchin Krishik Seva
KendraŽ Vimukti Laila were present.
Mrs.Seema Mathias delivered the message to the people that we have to
love and care the HIV affected people. She said that HIV people also can
live a normal life with their family and community. They need our
support to face the community and the society for which we need to
educate the people in all over the world. She also said educating
people and spreading awareness about HIV/ AIDS is essential to ensure
that those affected can lead a normal life. That’s why we have included
maximum women and girls in this rally and also appealed them that they
must get HIV tested.
Fr Vinod Mascarenhas said in his presidential speech that we need to be
aware of the present situation of the society that young people are
affected to HIV/ AIDS in big number. Therefore today in all
circumstances we need to be tested every now and then. We need to
instruct people especially the young girls that they do not fall to the
trap of the dreadful people.
Apart from that other resource persons gave the similar message to fight
against this dreadful disease. A few vigilant and awareness songs were
sung by the staff of the Vimukti. At last Indian Catholic Youth Movement
(ICYM) Venur presented a Street play on HIV/AIDS. There were lot of
people participated in this rally especially the SHG members ITI
students and Auto drivers from Venur. Ms. Vinitha welcomed the guests
and Ms. Sumangala gave the vote of thanks. Such program will spread
awareness in the society.
