Vimukti Blood Bank:

To realize the need of the hour and serve the purpose of the people is the greatest wonder and the achievement of human being. As the age old saying goes ‘Health is wealth’. The Vimukti Charitable Trust (VCT) had been catering to the manifold plans, undertaking projects for the welfare and the upliftment of the people in this region. ‘Health’ has been the core issue, and the focus to attend to this issue is the prime need. The VCT is showing its credibility and efficiency by being open to various needs of the society; it really triggered off the attention of hundreds of people who were struck when they heard of Vimukti Blood Bank being institutionalized in pothnal. Infact, it was the present dream and the urgent need of the people; as we well know that the people of this region are more prone to ill-health and the need to attend to this issue was a matter of serious concern.

So, according to this new plan which we have now embarked, it gives a call to the interested people who would like to willingly register their names for the Blood donation. There will be prior check-up done of the interested people; if they are found physically fit and their blood group if found positive then only their names will be enrolled along with their respective Blood-group. The Vimukti will not actually have the Blood storage bank due to dearth of medical facilities apart from this, this VCT is not authorized to function itself as a medical centre.

In case, if there is a patient who is badly in need of Blood, there isn’t any need to panic; the people could easily have recourse to the VCT and can get the required blood group without any slightest inconvenience or trouble.

The Training on Vimukti Blood Bank was inaugurated on 10th of October 12, 2012. This training was held at Vimukti premises. There were nearly 65 Blood Donors were present to these trainings. Fr. Dancy Martis was the president and inaugurated this training. Dr. Dhorgappa explained to the participant the various aspects of blood donation and answered their queries with patience. The Fr.Sathish Fernandes Director (VCT) welcomed the participant heartly. Mr. Basappa Mr. Nagraj Journalists, and Jaysheela taluka coordinator, was present on dais. There were also many village leaders were present for the inaugural function. The function was also meant for creating awareness in villages on the importance of voluntary Blood donation. ‘Give Blood-save life’ has been the motto of Vimukti. At the end of the programme names of those ready to donate blood were taken. Animator Mr. Arogyappa anchored the programme and Mr. Amaresha thanked all the guests and all the gathering. Training ended with the sumptuous meal.
