Identification of Schemes and NGO Collaboration in Raichur District:
Just as the famous saying goes 'no man
is an island', so too, no network can function effectively without
the wealth of experience that comes from collaboration with other
like-minded entities, These partnerships bring in different
perspectives, innovative ideas and new friends. VIMUKTI has always
believed in this principle. Therefore, Vimukti took up itself the
task of educating and enabling the people to gain most by the
following three specific schemes under RTF. Public Distribution
Scheme(PDS), Annapurna Scheme and National Rural Employment
Guarantee Scheme. So as to widen the impact, Vimukti roped in the
following as its collaborators in the RTF Campaign: Lok Manch India,
, Janodhaya manvi, Jagrutha mahela Sangatana Pothnal, Nava Jeevana
Mahila Okkuta Raichur, Gram Vikas, , Roovari Raichur, etc.
Strategic Planning:
-
As a
next step, a strategic planning workshop was conducted for the
RTF program staff. Having reviewed the local situation and
realities of the target areas, a set of strategies were chalked
out for the effective implementation of the programs. The
strategies included the following:
-
Information dissemination on the selected schemes so as to
generate awareness among all the stakeholders and vey
specifically the beneficiary population.
-
Interface with line departments who are responsible for the
implementation of the schemes in order to pressurize the
officials to give up their lethargy and sluggishness in the
implementation;
-
Capacity building measures for the community as well as the
program staff; and
-
Creating appropriate mechanisms to monitor the progress and to
sustain the results already achieved through the RTF
implementation.
