Children Parliment
Vimukti Children actively took part in the “ Children parliament” which was held in Belthangdy in collaboration with the Educational Resource center South Canara and PADI Velored Mngalore. Belthangady constituency MLA, Mr. Vasanth Bangera Presided over the program, Other officials from RTO, BEO, KSRTC, Pncayath CEO, MESCOM, Police, were present. Children from different schools and villages participated in the event in order to highlight the various problems they face everyday. Children brought foreword veracious issues concerning their Child Rights, security and education before MLA, School infrastructure, Transportation, Child abuse, Child labor, improper midday meal, Pre adolescent training, Road safety and many more issues concerning children were highlighted by children themselves e before MLA and given appeal to solve those difficulties. The MLA then and there took task on the concerned officials present there and ordered them to look in to the matter seriously. Mr Bangera also promised the children to address the problems as soon as possible and work hard towards children’s needs. Fr. Vinode Mascarenhas was the chief guest of the program for the morning session. Inaugurating the workshop on “Children Parliament” . He invited children to come forward courageously and ask for their rights without any hesitation. He also told them that children are not the citizens of tomorrow but of today and they must make best use of their Rights.
